I cofounded my first company when I was 19. We pivoted through lots of ideas before finding our right fit “in the Ocean”, which was representing high tech companies from Silicon Valley in Africa.  I sold the company to Datatec when I was 36, moved to Knysna, became a Christian and became very involved in working with troubled teens and their families.  Two years later I cofounded one of the first mobile payment companies in the world and headed up their strategy team for the first few years. The company was ultimately acquired for $110m by VISA.

Since then I’ve been working on developing the next generation of entrepreneurs in Africa through the Koi methodology. I’ve trained over a thousand people in Koi for Microsoft, incubators and universities, have coached hundreds of startups, and have a KoiGroup community on Facebook of over 6,000 people.
